Juror's Note: Technically, this photograph is pristine. The lighting and sharpness across the frame create a nearly unreal amount of detail. The dark background isolates the subject in a scientific way, but the beauty of the yet-to-be unfurled maple leaves remind me of a Edward Weston photograph.
