Juror Notes: “Shimmering Sunflowers” This artist is very confident with their paints and brushes. Excellent range of the color green, keeping the palette simple. Smart use of bright colors against dark colors to pop the values. While floral paintings can sometimes be sentimental, this painting has the right amount of impressionistic mark making, which takes it beyond the ordinary.
